To kick off the new school year, WYES families are invited to join us for an ICE CREAM SOCIAL on Wednesday, August 2nd from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the WYES Cafeteria. This special treat will be provided by our wonderful PTO.

There will be a 3rd Grade Parent Orientation on Tuesday, August 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the WYES Cafeteria. For our 3rd graders, there will be many adjustments – a new building, new friends, and different adults. This will be a wonderful opportunity for parents to ask questions and address any concerns that they may have regarding our plans and expectations for your 3rd grader.

We look forward to seeing all of our students at Open House on Thursday, August 10th, from 1:00–7:00 P.M. Please come by and meet your teacher.  This will also be a great opportunity to bring in your school supplies.

Are you new to Madison County?  All new to the county WYES students are invited to an orientation during Open House - Our School Counselor, Mrs. Keys, will be doing a presentation at 2 pm in the Library.  An optional tour of the building will follow with plenty of time for Q & A.  Hope to see you there!

Students receiving awards for the third nine weeks

To mark the end of the third nine weeks, students at Waverly Yowell gathered together to be inspired, receive awards, and recognize achievement.  A special guest speaker, Pastor H from Uganda thanked Waverly for their generous support and donations for Ugandan students.  Ladies from the Madison Garden Club came to award students for their outstanding poetry and posters.  Mrs. Rice presented awards for her students in various categories.  Students received recognition for their perfect attendance, specials, and for each of the four categories of our school matrix, be determined, be safe, be responsible, and be respectful.  A final pieing of Mr. Kubricki, Mrs. Ovalle, and Mr. Schmaltz was given by students Ava H., Troy M., Braden G., and Tone O. for raising the most money in the jump rope for heart fundraiser.  Congratulations to all students for their amazing effort during the past nine weeks!
