On Monday, April 11 the artwork of four students from Waverly Yowell were inducted into the School Board office art show.  The art was voted upon by local artists from the Firnew Farm Artists Circle and after chosen, framed.  Students were invited to the April school board meeting to be recognized for their achievement.  The artists are 3rd graders Hailey Clatterbuck, and Alayna Payne, 4th grader Nick Galasso, and 5th grader, Hallie Jenkins.  The artwork will hang in the school board office for one year, and will then be transferred to the hallway art gallery unless picked up by the artist.  The school board also recognized Joey Johnson for his third place award from the Virginia School Board Association art contest, which includes artwork from nine surrounding counties.  I am immensely proud of all the students at Waverly for their hard work and enjoyment of the arts.
